Outdoor Warning Test Scheduled for 12/5/12


The City of Butler will conduct the monthly test of the outdoor warning sirens on Wed., Dec. 5, 2012 at 10:00 A.M.
 
Due to recent radio upgrades, multiple tests may be required.

Obituary - Dennis "Pete" Adams


   A celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Brother Bill Perkey officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 2-3 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Private family inurnment at a later date. Contributions to American Cancer Society


   Dennis “Pete” Adams, age 61 of Adrian, Missouri, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born December 13, 1950 to John and Margaret Burnett Adams in Merwin, Missouri.


    Pete is survived by his wife, Denise Adams of Adrian, Missouri; one daughter, Makenzi Denise Adams of Adrian, Missouri; one son, Kerry Ray Adams of Harrisonville, Missouri; Connie M. Camerer; two brothers, Gerald Adams of Grandview, Missouri and Tom Adams of Nevada, Missouri; four sisters, Nancy Todd and husband Robert of Butler, Missouri, Marty Setzer and husband Ron of Urich, Missouri, Bonnie Miller of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Iris Williams of Blue Springs, Missouri; and one granddaughter, Audrie Lousie Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Eldon “Bud”, Gene and Ronnie; and one sister, Joy McRoberts.

   THE TOTALS ARE IN… AND THE NEED FOR CHILDREN TO RECEIVE AT LEAST ONE CHIRISTMAS PRESENT THIS SEASON HAS GROWN TO 206 AFTER THE NOVEMBER 30TH DEADLINE FOR PARENTS TO REIGISTER THEIR CHILDREN FOR THE ADOPTION LIST.  

WEST CENTRAL COMMUNITY AGENCY AND THE PEOPLE FOR PEOPLE COALITION BANDED TOGETHER TO REACH OUT TO CHILDREN IN NEED AND ASK THE COMMUNITY TO ADOPT A CHILD OR FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON.

AS OF DECEMBER 3RD, ONLY 62 CHILDREN HAVE BEEN ADOPTED… THAT LEAVES 139 CHILDREN THAT MAY NOT RECEIVE A GIFT THIS CHRISTMAS.

THE LIST OF CHILDREN IN NEED ARE AVAILABLE AT WEST CENTRAL COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY , 5 WEST DAKOTA STREET IN BUTLER. TO MEET THE DELIVERY DEADLINE, ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ADOPTED BY DECEMBER 17TH.

WE HAVE  15 DAYS ( AS OF MONDAY DECEMBER 3RD) FOR THE PUBLIC TO ADOPT A CHILD AND PURCHASE CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR CHILDREN IN NEED. WEST CENTRAL COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY WILL ACCEPT DONATIONS AND THEY WILL DO THE SHOPPING IF NECESSARY… SO THAT EACH CHILD IN  NEED WILL RECEIVED A GIFT.

Dr. Vitt leaving his office


 Dr. Paul Vitt has decided to re-locate out of state and has resigned his position at Bates County Memorial Hospital effectively immediately. The hospital thanks Dr.Vitt for his years of services and wishes him and his family best wishes in his new endeavor and journey. Thank you to all of his patients.

Candle Light Service Planned

   The community is invited to a traditional Christmas Eve candle lighting service at the Rich Hill United Methodist Church on December 24, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. We invite you to gather with family, friends and community members to celebrate Christmas Eve with music, worship  and the beautiful, closing candlelight service. Take a moment out of your busy holiday season to share this celebration of the Christmas season. The Rich Hill United Methodist Church is located at 221 East Park Avenue, Rich Hill, just southwest of the West Park.
