Bobcat Sighting In Bates County

David Weiss of rural Butler took these amazing photos of a Bobcat on his property last night around the K Highway Area West Of Butler. The Bobcat in the picture is a suspect in some reason cat killings in the area. Bobcats are nocturnal and diurnal. There is little social interaction between individuals, who mark territories with fecal matter and urine. Within their ranges, they can travel between 3 and 7 miles nightly, inspecting many objects as they go. Mating begins in December and can extend into June, with the peak in March. Litters of usually 2 to 3 kittens are born after 50 to 70 days, most in May and June. Weaning occurs after two months, and young stay with the female until fall or later. If you see a bobcat avoid it.

Missing Money From Henry County Circuit Clerks Office

HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Wednesday, July 17, 2013
Investigation continues

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation into missing money from the Henry County Circuit Clerks Office is continuing. The investigation began earlier this year when discrepancies were found in several accounts. Deputy Lee Hilty and Deputy Chase Jackson have been assigned to work the case from the Sheriff’s Office after an audit was completed by the Office of State Courts Administrator. Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom said Prosecuting Attorney Richard Shields had requested that the Attorney General Office be appointed special prosecutor in the matter considering he and his office staff may also be victims and/or witnesses in this case.

“The matter has been accepted by the Attorney General and we are waiting to meet with the assigned prosecutor to review our case. We are hopeful that will occur this week”, Sheriff Oberkrom added.
