Around 3:15 am this morning the Adrian Fire Department with assistance from The Butler and Amsterdam Fire Departments all responded to a shed fire 6 miles West of Adrian on 18 Highway around the junction of FF Highway and 18 Highway. When the units arrived on the scene the shed was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was very close to spreading to a near by residence but because of the great work of the fire departments was quickly contained to just the shed. The building was a total loss and it's unknown at this time what the cause of this fire was. The fire is still being investigated. Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available.

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department indicated several farm buildings, equipment and hay bales were set afire as well as a field. A few area residents within three miles of the fire were evacuated and returned to their households early Friday morning.
