UPDATE: 2 vehicle accident FF highway

An Adrian woman was hurt early this afternoon in a two-vehicle collision at a rural intersection in Bates County. The Missouri Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Dianne E. Wimsatt was taken to the hospital in Butler for treatment of a minor injury. Highway Patrol Sgt. C. M. Gach says it happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. and route FF and Bates County road 8002 when a North-bound Chevy Uplander -- driven by Wimsatt struck the East-bound Ford silage truck -- driven by 79-year-old Leland Burch, Butler -- and the vehicles collided in the intersection. Burch was not hurt.

St. Clair County Sheriff's: Arrest warrant issued for Daniel Ball, II

On Feb. 11, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Daniel Ball II, Osceola, for failing to appear in court on a felony probation violation.

The warrant was issued on Feb. 11 and bond was set at $5,000 cash only. Ball was placed on five years supervised probation in September 2010 after he entered an Alford plea and was found guilty in a case charging him with class C felony burglary in the second degree.

The charge stemmed from an incident in July 2009.

Ball was also arrested on Dec. 4, 2013 after failing to appear in court on the probation violation. He appeared in court on Jan. 16 and admitted violating probation by using methamphetamine.

He was released on an own recognizance bond pending disposition from the court on Feb. 3 for the probation violation. Ball failed to appear on Feb. 3 and the case was reset to Feb. 11. Butler Parents: Yearbooks Orders

Butler Parents: The last day to order yearbooks is March 24. They are currently $67. They can be ordered either online through the Butler Schools website or a check can be delivered to Mrs. Behringer.

Senior Parents: Baby pictures and senior portraits are due by February 21 for the yearbook and senior video. If you are interested in doing a senior ad for your graduate, the due date is March 14. There are still a few 2012-2013 yearbooks left. If you are interested, they are $65 and can be purchased from Mrs. Behringer.

2 Vehicle Accident West of Passaic

The Bates County Sheriff's Department along with The Butler Fire Department and Bates County EMS is in route to a 2 vehicle accident on FF Highway a mile North of F Highway west of Passaic. Unknown at this time of injuries and Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available.

Butler schools on Level 1 Lock Down

Although there is no immediate threat, and as a precaution only, both Butler school facilities are on a Level 1 lock down at this time. Parents have been notified through the School Reach notification system regarding this situation, and likewise will be notified when the lockdown is over.

Bates County Live has been in contact with the Butler Police Department regarding this matter and it has been confirmed that no one is in any immediate danger.

Details regarding the decision to call the lockdown will be made available as soon as they are released from local authorities.

Again, be aware that students are not in danger at this time.

Midwest propane prices declining

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports the average retail price for propane in the U.S. fell to $3.76 per gallon as of Monday, down 13.4 cents from a week ago and 25.3 cents below the peak price of $4.01 the last week of January.

Propane prices in the Midwest region averaged 3.54 a gallon, down 28.5 cents from last week and 67.5 cents below the peak $4.195 on January 27th. While the Midwest prices have been declining, New England and the Mid-Atlantic States have seen slight increases the past two weeks.
