Weather Update: Severe Weather Later On This Week

The weather is certainly nice out there, and will remain so for the next couple days; however, strong to severe thunderstorms will be on our doorstep this Wednesday night, and will likely affect the area with widespread thunderstorm activity through the day on Thursday. At this time it appears the main threats will be heavy rain, frequent lightning, strong winds, and perhaps some large hail. While the threat for tornadoes looks low at this point, one or two isolated tornadoes cannot be completely ruled out.

Weather Update: Where did Spring Go

OK, who turned the calendar to late June? It's short sleeve shirt and shorts weather. Can you believe it was in the 50s just four days ago?If you haven't already done so break out the sun screen and make sure you grab some water if you're working outdoors over the next few days. It's gonna get a bit toasty. Expect 80s south of the Missouri River today and then everyone is in the 80s Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rain holds off till late Wednesday night and even that is not a slam dunk. Our lawns and gardens will likely get a drink on Thursday. Lots can change between now and then but seeing hints that some of the storms on Thursday could be severe. We'll keep you posted as we get closer to that time. Till then pass me the SPF-80 and how about some sweet tea.

Do you prefer this heat or would you rather bundle up like last Thursday?
