Rich Hill 4th Of July Committee Anouncement: 3 Nashville Performing Artists on July 5th

We are fortunate enough to have Jenna McDaniel and her band back on July 5th to open for Tate Stevens!! Jenna sang acoustic last year and opened for Pam Tillis in 2013. 

We will also have new Nashville recording artist Kelsie May performing before Jenna and Tate on July 5th. Make that THREE Nashville performing artists on July 5!! 

A FREE THREE HOUR CONCERT!!!!.. Everyone is welcome to come out and celebrate Rich Hill's Famous 4th of July celebration.

VFW Memorial Day Service at Adrian, mo.‏

VFW Post 1935, Adrian, Mo.  will present Memorial Day Services at Lt. Charles Garrison Veteran's Memorial, Adrian, Mo.,  on Saturday, May 24 at 10:00 AM.  Guest Speaker will be Bro. Bill Perkey of Double Branch Christian Church.  

The Rain date will be Monday, May 26 at 10:00 AM.  Everyone is most welcome and encouraged to attend.  Please Remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, that we as a Nation have enjoyed Liberty and Freedom for 238 years. 

Butler Fire Department: Gas Line Broken In Butler


The Butler Fire Department along with Liberty Utilities is on scene of a gas line that has been broken on High Street here in Butler. The road was already closed due to street repairs. Bates County Live will update this when the gas line is repaired.

Benefit Fishing Tournament June 7th

On June 7th, 2014 there will be a benefit fishing tournament to help with funeral costs for the family of 10 month old baby Lane Lorimore, The infant son of Denise Whitworth a former Butler resident and Archie native Wyatt Lorimore. Lane  passed away April 23,2014 of SIDS ( Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).

The benefit fishing tournament teams will meet at the Bear Stop Filling Station in  Butler on the morning of June 7th at 7am. The entry fees to enter this tournament is $40 per 2 man team. The pay outs will be at 3am at the Bear Stop, for the winning team with the most pounds and largest fish category.

The payouts will be determined by the number of teams in the event. For more information on this please contact Colt Greenwood 660 - 424 -4827. All the proceeds of this event will go directly to the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel.

Obituary - Leona Diana Brewster

Diana’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration will be held at the home of Russell Scott at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Meal will be provided at 4 p.m. Arrangements, Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) Butler, Missouri

Leona Diana Brewster, age 52 of Drexel, Missouri died Friday, May 16, 2014 at her home in Drexel. She was born July 17, 1961 to Robert Keith and Melba Pauline Hines Kinney in Kansas City, Missouri.

Diana is survived by her life partner, Russell Scott of Drexel, Missouri; two sons, Travis Robertson and wife Misty of Easton, Kansas and Dustin Robertson and wife Amy of Leavenworth, Kansas; a daughter, Andria Dean and husband Aushie of Leavenworth, Kansas; her mother, Melba Crabtree of Nevada, Missouri; one brother, Michael Kinney and wife Pam of North Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Terry Weiss and husband Mike of Salina, Kansas, Charie Clark of Richards, Missouri and Mary Clark and husband John of Lamar, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; uncles, aunts and many cousins, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Patrick Kinney; and stepfather, Hal Crabtree.

Butler School District: Grade Cards Ready For Pick -Up

Butler Junior/Senior High School Grade Cards are ready to be picked up. Hours are from 7:30-3:30 Monday-Friday. The school will be closed on Memorial Day May 26.
