Urich ,Missouri Man Life Flighted To KC Hospital After Accident In Benton County

Urich, Missouri man injured in Benton County accident

Around 8:50am this morning the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a 2 vehicle accident on Missouri 7 Highway at Sunset Drive in Benton County.

The Accident occurred when the 2015 Freightliner driven by Robert D. Gadd 35,of California, Missouri overtook the 2005 Ford driven by Larry R. Hembree 56, of Urich Missouri striking it.

Mr. Hembree was life flighted to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri with moderate injuries. Both was wearing seat belts. The Ford truck was totaled and towed from the scene by Tolliver Towing. The Freightliner had minor damage on the front of it.

Cass County Sheriffs Office: Stolen Dune Buggy

In June of 2014, Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office recovered a dune buggy just south of Belton. We are unable to locate the owner at this time.

Henry County Sheriffs Office: Looking For Stolen Truck

The Henry County Sheriffs Office is attempting to locate a stolen black 2004 Chevrolet 4x4 extend cab pickup truck that was stolen today around the lunch hour. The license number on the truck is 91A8YG Missouri, The truck was stolen in rural Henry County around County Road SW700. If you have any information on this stolen vehicle please contact the Henry County Sheriffs Office at 660 - 885 -5587

Donald "Eddie" Edward Spangler, 68, Peculiar, Missouri, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Service times and complete obituary will be posted when available.

Lincoln, but was indeed his elder brother, Josephus.

Obituary - Nina May Deardorff

Graveside services for Nina Deardorff will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Walnut Grove Cemetery near Ballard, Missouri under the direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555). There will be no visitation. Contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Nina May Deardorff, age 88 of rural Adrian, Missouri died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her home. She was born May 7, 1926 to Percy and Emma Ione Day Winegardner in Bates County, Missouri.

Nina is survived by her brother, John Winegardner of Adrian, Missouri; a niece, Susan Winegardner of Belton, Missouri; great-niece, Amy Winegardner; great-nephew, Eric Winegardner; two brothers-in-law, Vernon Deardorff and wife Pat and Martin Deardorff all of Kansas City, Missouri; faithful friend and neighbor, Nellie O. Hill; as well as the Roof family, who considered her an adopted grandma; and other nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; one nephew, Gerald Winegardner and a sister-in-law, Bessie Winegardner.

Car fire on I-49 ramp this morning

The Butler Fire Department along with the Butler PD and Missouri Highway Patrol were called to a vehicle fire around 1:30 this morning on the I-49 ramp at west 52 highway. According to chief Jim Henry, the fire started in the engine compartment of a 1988 Chevrolet pickup as the driver rounded the corner to southbound I-49.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and the fire department was on the scene about 45 minutes. No injuries were reported.

* Routes AA: ROAD CLOSED between I-49 and County Road NW 1001 south of Archie. Installing drain pipes. Work hours: 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17.

* Routes F and 18 and: One-lane traffic near Adrian. Laying long patches.
