Obituary - Ted "Teddy" Sweets

Ted "Teddy" Sweets

Funeral services for Ted "Teddy" Sweets will be 12 noon Monday, October 27, 2014 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to services from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday at Schowengerdt Chapel. There will also be a visitation from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Community of Christ Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Butler Bears Football. 

Teddy Sweets, age 69 of Chillicothe, Missouri formerly of Butler, Missouri died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Morningside Center in Chillicothe. He was born October 29, 1944. 

Teddy is survived by his wife, Joan Sweets of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Tracy McConnico of Independence, Missouri and Kim Sweets of Grandview, Missouri; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Briscoe Masonic Lodge #54 will be serving their famous BBQ Sandwiches at the O'Reilly Parking Lot in Butler this Saturday, Oct.25th in Butler. Starts at 10 am.

REMINDER: Butler Police Seeking Public's Help

The Butler Police Department is asking for the public's help, regarding a hit and run. According to a report, the incident occurred on Sunday, October 19th at approxamately 10:00 A.M. at 802 West Ft. Scott Street in Butler, MO.

An early 1990's model White Ford F-150 extended cab pickup went through the residents yard, hit a state road sign, knocking the sign and pole down, and doing damage to the yard. The vehicle headed west on Ft. Scott Street after the incident.

The driver was described as a white male, early to middle 20's, and wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans. Damage to the vehicle will be on the front driver's side. Witnesses report the suspect may live in the rural Adrian area.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 660-200-2000 or the Butler Police Department at 660-679-6131.

Notice of Flushing Hydrants in Butler

The City of Butler will be flushing hydrants in all areas North of Ohio Street starting, October 29th and 30th, and again on November 5th and 6th.

Flushing hydrants are a routine maintenance activity of the Water Distribution Department and Fire Department.

This work will occur mainly during the late evening and overnight hours for the convenience of customers and will be primarily Wednesdays and Thursdays. This work should take approximately two weeks.

The residents in this area may experience some rusty water and should exercise caution when washing white fabrics. If you notice any staining of white fabrics, do not dry the material but repeat the wash cycle.

If you experience stained fabrics, contact the City office at 679-4182 during normal business hours or the Butler Police Department at 679-6131 after hours and on weekends and they can provide you with bottles of stain remover.

St. Clair County Sheriff's Office: Osceola man arrested on felony no bond parole violation warrant

On Oct. 23, Vernon Wait, 53, Osceola, was arrested in St. Clair County on a felony no bond parole violation warrant on an original charge of second degree murder. The warrant was issued on Oct. 22.
