Obituary - Shirley Robinson (Wares)

 Shirley Robinson (Wares)
Shirley Ilene Robinson (Wares), age 86, of Paola, Kansas, passed away November 10, 2016 at her home.

Shirley was born to Allen and Mary Wares (Kagel) in Belvidere, Illinois. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1947. On October 10, 1948, she was united in marriage to Roy Robinson. They were blessed with three children, Sherry Rae, Randall Roy, and Sandra Jean. The family moved to Sheldon, Missouri in 1969.

Shirley was employed at Vernon County Health Department from 1974 to 1996 and served as Administrator from 1978 to 1996. They moved to Paola, Kansas in 2009.

Shirley was very giving of her time and talents and served in many organizations. She served as an organist from 1970 to 2009 and taught Sunday school for 10 years for the Methodist Church. She was also a 4-H leader and during her lifetime was a member of the following organizations: American Legion Auxiliary, Missouri Public Health Association, Executive Women’s Association of Missouri, Vernon County Senior Citizens Building Board, Red Cross Board, West Central Community Action Women’s Health Services Board, Nevada Regional Technical Health Services Board, Bronaugh School Home Economics Advisory Board and Bronaugh School Public Private Partnership Advisory Board.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 68 years Roy, son, Randall Roy Robinson (Romy) of Paola, KS; daughters, Sherry Rae Stromp (Peter) of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Sandra Jean Moll (Dave) of Paola, KS; brother Wayne A. Wares of Poplar Grove, IL; sister Jean A. Schoepski of Poplar Grove, IL; grandchildren, Megan Clark (Tony), Hannah, and Reed McFarland, Alexis and Kaylee Bryan, Jacob, Marcus and Matthew Robinson and David Moll Jr (Sami); great grandchildren Lilli, Haiden and Wade Moll and Beckett Clark.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Miami County Cancer Foundation.

Memorial Service is 2:00 p.m. Sunday Nov. 13, 2016 at the Paola United Methodist Church, 209 S. Silver St., Paola, KS.

One injured in two vehicle accident in Cass County

On 11/12/16 around 2:25pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a two vehicle accident on Southbound Missouri 7 Highway at Myrtle Street.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2012 Nissan driven by 56 year old Candia K. Dorman of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was stopped at a stoplight when she was rear ended by the 2008 Ford driven by 61 year old Teresa L. Rogers of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Teresa L. Rogers sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Lees Summit Hospital.

The 2008 Ford received minor damages and it was towed from the scene by Severs Tow of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Stolen trailer from Archie

The Archie Police Department is attempting to locate a stolen white Econoline 12 ft enclosed box trailer with blue lettering on the said that says " Extreme Landscape" on the side.

The stolen trailer didn't have a license plate on it and it's said to be damaged on the top front right corner

Donald R. "Donnie" Jacobs
Donald R. "Donnie" Jacobs 73 of Platte City, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home in Platte City.

He is survived by two sons, Clint Jacobs, Kansas City, Missouri, Preston Jacobs, Rogers, Arkansas; two daughters, Teresa Ryan and husband Mikel, Grandview, Missouri, Rachel Dawn Jacobs-Reeves and husband Danny, Harrisonville, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; four brothers, Hobart Jacobs, Belton, Missouri, Bob Jacobs, Creighton, Missouri, Richard Jacobs, Harrisonville, Missouri, Charlie Jacobs, Warsaw, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Leon, Blue Springs, Missouri, Mary Anne Cox, Urich, Missouri; his loving friend and caregiver, Linda Moore of the home; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Mullin Cemetery near Urich, Missouri.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Service Officer Program.

Charles Keith Winchester, age 87 of Nevada, Missouri died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home in rural Nevada, Missouri. He was born October 3, 1929 to Charles Corneilous and Marguerite Ann Gossett Winchester in Kansas City, Missouri.

Charles is survived by his wife Brenda Winchester of the home Nevada, Missouri; one son, Cary Winchester and wife Melinda of Grand Rivers, Kentucky; one daughter, Stephanie Lapinski and husband Richard of Cicero, Indiana; and 8 grandchildren, also surviving one sister Vicki Hathaway. He was preceded in death by his parents.
