Sheldon man injured in Vernon County Crash

On 11/16/16 around 2:15pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Route B around 3 miles East of Sheldon, Missouri in rural Vernon County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2006 Mini Cooper driven by 60 year old Robert L. Liveley of Sheldon, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway traveled down an embankment and overturned striking a tree.

Mr. Liveley sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Garwood Wrecker Service of Nevada, Missouri.

Clinton woman arrested in Henry County

On 11/16/16 around 11:47am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County arrested 37 year old Anna V. James of Clinton, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Felony Probation Violation Warrant.

Anna V. James was booked into the Henry County Jail and she is currently listed as bondable.

Bodies recovered believed to be Pleasanton mother and son

The Kansas Bureau of Investigations is reporting that two bodies found last night near Pittsburg, KS are believed to be those of Betty McNabb and her son Kenneth McNabb who went missing late last week.

David McNabb, 31, of Pittsburg was arrested this week in suspected involvement with the disappearance. He is facing charges of second-degree murder, criminal desecration of a body and interference with a law enforcement officer.

The KBI is saying they are waiting results of autopsies and will release more details as soon as they can confirm identity.

UPDATE: Montrose woman seriously injured in crash just East of Butler

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County EMS, Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri H Highway around 300 feet from Mound Creek Bridge this morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2011 Dodge driven by 68 year old Shirley A. Phillips of Montrose, Missouri crossed the center line of the roadway and ran off the left side striking a ditch. The vehicle then went airborne traveling through two fences, down a embankment and striking a ditch.

Shirley A. Phillips sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital and later St. Lukes Hospital in downtown Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle sustained extensive damages and was towed from the scene by Douty's Tow of Butler, Missouri.

The Butler Fire Department is in route to a small grass fire that is located at 203 West Atkinson Apartment D at this time.

We have had so many calls that we have decided to open a temporary store front in Harrisonville by the Family Center! It will be smaller selection of all our smoked meats but you will still be able to get everything you want for your Christmas dinners. 

We will also be serving lunch just like we used to.

Jeanne Bernadette Berryman
Jeanne Bernadette Berryman of Harrisonville, MO was born Feb 27, 1935 in Kansas City, MO. The daughter of Bernard and Alice (Carter) Riley. She departed this life Monday, November 14, 2016 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, MO at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 15 days.

On April 11, 1953 Bernie was united in marriage to Kenneth Lloyd Berryman in Kansas City, Missouri. Their life together was an example of a special love for each other, as God intended for marriage to be.

Bernie was employed at Shelter Insurance, Harrisonville, MO until her retirement. Previously she was employed at Garden City Garment Factory and later she joined her husband on the road as an over the road driver. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, MO. She was an extremely faithful Christian and was at the heart of the prayer chain devoted to praying for those in need. Her devotion to God, her husband, and her family was unequaled. Her grandchildren could always count on ‘grandma’ to travel any distance to support them during ballgames or special recognitions. She was an avid fan of the Royals and Mizzou.

Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, her parents, Bernard and Alice Riley, and siblings, Fred Riley, Mary Ann, Joan Huff and Dolores Cox, and her son Ken Berryman.

She is survived by 4 children, Gloria Phillips, Harrisonville, MO, Karen Caldwell and husband Larry, Aurora, MO, Daughter-in-law Carol Berryman, Peculiar, MO; Jim Berryman and wife Linda, Piedmont, OK, Susan Boehm and husband Larry, Independence, MO; 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Orient Cemtery, Harrisonville, Missouri.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. There will be a Recitation of the Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Memorial Fund, Harrisonville, Missouri.

One vehicle accident East of Butler

The Bates County Sheriffs Office along with the Butler Police Department, Bates County EMS and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are on scene of a one vehicle accident on Missouri H Highway just East of Butler.

A grey in color Dodge Journey car is said to have traveled off the roadway and down a embankment around 100 yards off the roadway.

One unknown person is complaining of back and neck pains at this time.

Obituary - Larry L. Wright

Larry L. Wright, 81, of Windsor, Missouri died unexpectedly Tuesday evening November 15,2016 at a hospital in Olathe, Kansas. 

Among survivors of Mr. Wright is one son, Lamont Wright and a one daughter, Elizabeth Herrick. 

Funeral Arrangements are pending under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, Mo.

Vehicle Fire North of Urich in Cass County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and Urich Fire Department are in route to a truck fire on Missouri 7 Highway and County Road NW 800 which is just North of Urich, Missouri.

We are hearing that a unknown make and model truck is in a ditch and currently fully engulfed in flames at this time.
