Butler man arrested after Polk County accident

On 11/23/16 around 12;03am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Polk County, Missouri arrested 41 year old William M. Hunt of Butler, Missouri after a traffic accident on Missouri 13 Highway.

Mr. Hunt was arrested for 1.) Felony Driving While Intoxicated 2.) C&I Driving involving a traffic crash 3.) No drivers license 4.)No Insurance 4.) Felony FTA Bates County Warrant for several violations.

He was booked into the Polk County Jail and he is currently listed as bondable.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions in lieu of flowers to Salvation Army or Cove Creek Christian Church.

Melvin Lee Fairman, age 81 of Ballard, Missouri died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. He was born August 1, 1935 to Cleo and Joycie Velma Ewing Fairman in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Etta Sue Fairman of Ballard, Missouri; two sons, Alan Fairman and wife Linda of Ballard, Missouri and Darryl Fairman and wife Michele of Peculiar, Missouri; two daughters, Susan Wainscott and husband Chuck of Raymore, Missouri and Lisa Smith and husband Bret of Acampo, California; one brother, Marvin Fairman and wife Mary Ann of Highland Village, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Julie Fairman Guffey and husband Lance of Ballard, Missouri, Jason Fairman and wife Cara of Adrian, Missouri, Lindsey Wainscott Kalivoda and husband Cody of Overland Park, Kansas, Tyler Wainscott and wife Danielle of Raymore, Missouri, Cameron Wainscott and wife Audrianna of Belton, Missouri, Connor and Madison Wainscott of Raymore, Missouri, Kyle Smith and wife Lacy of New Bern, North Carolina, Caleb Smith and wife Falynne and Kelsey Smith of Acampo, California, and Brooks, McKenzie and Jace Fairman of Peculiar, Missouri; and 13 great-grandchildren, Shelby, Rylee, Kaden and Greyson Guffey, Anna and Carson Fairman, Kinsley, Emberlyn and Delaney Wainscott, Kellan Wainscott and Gracie, Paisley and Bailey Smith; and a host of family and friends.

Eldorado Springs woman injured in two vehicle Vernon County crash

On 11/23/16 around 11:30am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Missouri 54 Highway and Missouri 43 Highway around 4 miles West of Nevada.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2015 Ford Explorer driven by 34 year old Travis R. Cole of Nevada, Missouri pulled into the path of the 2001 Dodge 3500 driven by 54 year old Steven D. Doucet of Ft. Scott, Kansas.

A passenger in Mr. Cole's vehicle 20 year old Krystle S. Stewart of Eldorado Springs, Missouri sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Hospital for treatment.

Both vehicle received moderate damages and were towed from the scene by TCB and Garwood Towing both of Nevada.

Springfield woman escapes injury in Henry County crash

On 11/23/16 around 11:26am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 13 Highway just North of Route Z in rural Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2011 Ford driven by 34 year old Angela D. Osborn traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a bridge. The vehicle then continued Northbound and came to stop on the shoulder of the roadway.

Angela D. Osborn sustained minor injuries in this accident and she refused medical treatment at the scene.

The vehicle received moderate damages and was towed from the scene by Golden Valley Tow.

Missouri Department of Conservation reports November firearms deer harvest ends with 185,000+

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows that deer hunters in Missouri harvested 185,066 deer during the November portion of fall firearms deer season, Nov. 12-22. Of the 185,066 deer harvested, 95,383 were antlered bucks, 18,889 were button bucks, and 70,794 were does. Top harvest counties were Howell with 3,910 deer checked, Franklin with 3,738, and Texas with 3,562.
Last year, hunters checked 186,542 deer during the 2015 November portion of firearms deer season with 90,094 being antlered bucks, 20,911 being button bucks, and 75,537 being does.
MDC reported three firearms-related hunting incidents during the fall firearms November portion. Two of the three incidents involved self-inflicted firearm wounds and occurred in Barry and Camden counties. The third involved one hunter in a party in Grundy County wounding another while shooting at a deer.
Deer hunting in Missouri continues with archery deer hunting from Nov. 23 through Jan. 15, firearms late youth portion Nov. 25-27, firearms antlerless portion Dec. 2-4, and firearms alternative methods portion Dec. 24 through Jan. 3.

Hume woman in jail on class D felony charges

Krystal Fuqua
Krystal Diann Fuqua of Hume was incarcerated earlier this week in Vernon County and is facing charges relating to defrauding a creditor in an amount more than $500.

Fuqua, 36, plead not guilty during her arraignment on Tuesday. Her bond is set at $5,000 and a pre-hearing conference is set for December 15.

Butler man injured in Polk County rollover accident

On 11/22/16 around 11:35pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Polk County responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 13 Highway around 2 miles North of Brighton, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Mercury Premier driven by 41 year old William M. Hunt of Butler, Missouri traveled off the roadway and overturned.

Mr. Hunt sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Wakefield Towing.

Peculiar man arrested in Cass County

On 11/22/16 around 7:10pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County arrested 52 year old David C. Tripaldi of Peculiar, Missouri.

Mr. Tripaldi was arrested for 1.) Driving while Intoxicated. 

He was booked into the Belton City Jail and later released.
