She worked as a bookkeeper for many years starting at Clearfield Cheese Company and the family business, Dunning Furniture Store. She held a real estate license, and most recently, worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block in Clinton. Virginia was a wonderful cook. She loved to read and displayed her artistic talents sewing, painting and gardening. Her grandkids were her pride and joy, and she was a constant supporter at their athletic, scholastic and musical activities. Excessive Heat Warning Wednesday Through Saturday

After a marginally hot day on Tuesday (HI 95-100), heat indices will rise to between 105 and 110 degrees Wednesday through Saturday across the entire region.

Confidence in the extreme heat lasting from Wed-Sat is highest along and south of HWY 36. Areas north of HWY 36 will have HI values 105 to 110 Wednesday through Friday, but Saturday could see some storms and clouds, which may keep conditions slightly cooler.

Air quality will be compromised all week due to the warm conditions. Watch those pets and keep them cool.

"Four Rivers" listing in the current Missouri Tourism publication ties it to Rich Hill ... which it should. This facility is a silent promoter for bringing good revenue to Rich Hill and southern Bates County as many who frequent it are from out of the area, and out of state. They stay at our motels, buy gas and food in our county, and are occasional buyers of property here.

Never miss an opportunity to talk up Bates County and what we offer! You never know when that person will brings jobs and other good things to our county!
