Chance for Isolated Thunderstorms Sunday

Obituary - Cecile L. Bigler

Cecile L. Bigler, age 79, of Clinton,  passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, Clinton.  Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Vansant-Mills Funeral Chapel, Clinton, Missouri.  

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00pm prior to service.  Interment will follow service in the Deepwater Cemetery, Deepwater.  

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Children's Mercy Hospital and may be left in care of funeral home.  Condolences and fond memories may be left online at

Cecile Loraine was born in Clinton the daughter of Claude Marshall and Alice Vivian (Smith) Stotts.  She was married to Raymond Eugene Bigler.  She worked at Hutcherson's Drug Store as a pharmacy clerk and at the soda fountain and also at the Daily Democrat.  She loved to travel and go camping and enjoying her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Shirley Landes and Mary Jo Witherspoon.

Survivors include her husband Raymond of the home; son,  Fred (Sherri) Bigler of Clinton; daughters, Vivian (Kenneth) Kasper of Windsor, Jody Cox, and Susan Bigler both of Nevada, MO.; grandchildren, Jamie Vogel, Matthew Cox, Ben Cox, Jeremy Cox, Crystal Cox, Rachel Cox, Jamie Cox, Tim Bigler, Joshua Bigler, Quade Bigler, Jackie Hughes, Nicole Collins, Brandon McGinnis, and Kristen Carlson; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Regina) Stotts, sisters, Betty (Robert) George and Claudia (Jim) Wells; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.

Obituary - Cheryl E. Dyer

Cheryl E. Dyer, 60, Belton, Missouri departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2018 surrounded by love and family at the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

She is survived by her siblings, Gayle Page (Dean), Chris Dyer (Kathy), Shawn Dyer (Diana), Shannon Dyer (Laura), John Dyer (Michele), a sister-in-law, Katie, 11 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.

Family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 26,2 018 at the funeral home.

Emily Deanne (Brunner) Taylor, 38, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, January 19, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at The Worship Center in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO.

Sue Ann Walden was born November 16, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Dewayne Beatty and Margaret Kerr Beatty. She died Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Lenexa, Kansas.

Sue Ann is survived by three sons: Justin Walden and Drew Walden of Lenexa, Kansas; and Zachary Walden and wife Kaycee of Olathe, Kansas; four daughters Tiffany Walden and friend Jeremy Carter and Lillie Walden all of Lenexa, Kansas; Courtney Neland and husband Jason of Kansas City, Kansas and Madison Walden of Overland Park, Kansas. She is further survived by eleven grandchildren; one brother Mike Nelson and wife Regina of Kansas City, Kansas; and six sisters; Cindy Buckroyd of Iowa; Judy Maxwell and husband Pete of McLouth, Kansas; Cheryl Gragg and husband Jeff of Blue Springs, Missouri; Helen McNamara Kelly Stevens and Karen McNamara all of Kansas City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Rockne Nelson.

One vehicle accident north of Drexel

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Drexel Fire Units are in route to a single car accident on Route D around 2 miles north of Drexel at this time.

Please avoid this area as emergency crews are responding to the scene at this time.
