Natural Gas Leak In Butler

The Butler Fire Department and Liberty Utilities are on scene of a possible gas leak in the area of the Bates County Memorial Hospital on Nursery Street at this time.

Several reports of a Natural Gas smell was reported in the area. Mid America Live News will update when more information is made available to us.

Obituary - Mildred E. Reynolds

Mildred E. Reynolds, 91 of Butler, Missouri passed away January 27, 2018 at Serenity Rehabilitation and Nursing of Butler. Mildred’s wishes were to be cremated, and private inurnment will be at a later date.

Mildred Elizabeth (Willits) Reynolds was born August 20, 1926 at Emporia, Kansas to Harry and Ruth (Rogers) Willits.

Mildred was proud of her nursing career. She was the last administrator of the Pine Tree Nursing Home in Butler, and the first Director of Nursing at Willow Lane Nursing Home in Butler when it opened. She moved the first 60 patients into the new facility.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, three brothers, as well as her husband Floyd Reynolds; and daughter-in-law and son-in-law Cheryl and Larry Bunch. She is survived by her step-son Curtis (Gloria) Reynolds of Adrian, Missouri; sons Roger (Laura) Moses of Kurtistown, HI; Rick (Kim) Moses of Show Low, AZ; 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild expected in March; one sister-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Obituary - Robert Skocy

Robert Skocy, 59 of Rich Hill, Missouri passed away January 26, 2017 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 31, 2017 at Happy Hill Church of God in Butler. 

A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Wednesday also at the church. 

Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions are suggested, in lieu of flowers, to the family. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at

Charles Elvin Taylor, age 68, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 25, 2018.

A Memorial service with Military Honors will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri.

Deepwater man arrested in Henry County

On 1/27/18 around 2:42am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County arrested 25 year old Ryan P. Stillwell of Deepwater, Missouri.

Mr. Stillwell was arrested for 1.) Felony Possession of a controlled substance 2.) Speeding 3.) Driving While Suspended/Revoked.

Ryan P. Stillwell was booked into the Henry County Jail in Clinton, Missouri and he is currently listed as bondable.

Archie woman arrested in Bates County

On 1/27/18 around 3:00am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 21 year old Hailey C. Anderson of Archie, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated.

Hailey C. Anderson was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.

The Barton County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in looking for a subject which has an active warrant for her arrest out of Barton County.

Tela Malic Savory, age 24, of Kansas City is wanted for two warrants out of Barton County. It's believed she is in the Kansas City area and if anybody in the Kansas City area would Share this it would be appreciated.

The first warrant is for Failure to Appear on a speeding charge. The bond amount is $228 dollars cash only and the second is for failure to appear on an operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid drivers license. The bond on the second warrant is $153 dollars cash only.
