Elizabeth A. Day, 107, Harrisonville, Missouri died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Golden Years in Harrisonville, Missouri.

House Fire in Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department along with assistance of the Butler Fire Department are on scene of a structure fire at 12 W. 1st in Adrian at this time.

All occupants of the house are said be out at this time and no one is injured.

Albert Kenneth "Kenney" Abnot, age 87 of Harrisonville, Missouri died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. He was born June 5, 1930 to Grover Albert and Olive Grace Elliott Abnot near Amsterdam in Bates County, Missouri.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dona Abnot of Harrisonville, Missouri; a son, Trent Fritts of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Janelle Curnutte and husband Alan of Louisburg, Kansas; six grandchildren, Tad Bitner, Stacey Kimberling and husband Paul, Jamie Henggeller and husband Brian, Dustin Hockett and wife Tonya, Lucas Curnutte and Logan Curnutte; several great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Cox of Harrisonville, Missouri, Norma Hoover of Deer Trail, Colorado and Jessie Steimel of Canyon Lake, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Fritts; three sisters, Anna Cummins, Mable Murray and Geneva Cook; and a half sister, Gertrude Comer.

This years weather class will be held in Belton's Memorial Park at the Memorial Station,602 Mauer Parkway, Tuesday, March 6, 2018. The class will start at 7pm and usually lasts for an hour to hour and a half.




Snowfall Potentially Returns Tuesday

Just a heads up for those beginning to make plans for next week, snow chances look to increase on Tuesday. 

There remains some degree of forecast uncertainty with the track of the system and specific amounts, but some snowfall accumulation is possible.







Structure fire in rural Rich Hill

The Butler Fire Department is assisting the Rich Hill and Foster Fire Department with a structure fire off of 1st Street to CR 1007 in rural Rich Hill.

A two story house is said to be fully engulfed in flames at this time and no one is reported to be in the residence.

Michael Lee Wilkinson, age 69 of Raymore, Missouri died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born September 5, 1948 to Theodore and Anna Mildred Carmichael Wilkinson in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lorraine Wilkinson of Raymore, Missouri; one son, Damon Wilkinson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brenden Wilkinson, Chad Gregg, Samantha Sweets-Wilkinson and Zachari Sweet-Wilkinson; great-grandson, Maxwell Anthony Washington; daughter-in-law, Kimmie Wilkinson; special nephew, Bryon Carmichael; one sister, Darlene Warren of Kansas City, Missouri; God-daughter, Sherri Arnett of Warrensburg, Missouri; and two God-grandsons, Shemar Arnett and Maurice Arnett. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mikie Wilkinson; and one sister, Willa Holliday.
