Obituary - Don Rhoads

Don Rhoads, 79, of Belton, Missouri died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Westline Christina Church, Westline, Missouri with visitation at 10:00 until service time.

Burial 4:00 p.m. at Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Westline Christian Church.

Obituary - Luther Calvin Simmons

Luther Calvin Simmons, age 92, of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Medicalodge, Fort Scott. He was born on February 2, 1926 at Turner, Kansas the son of Lester and Ethel Bond Simmons. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for the Wyandotte County Sheriff from 1969 to 1988, retiring as Captain.

He was instrumental in the implementation of the 911 dispatch system in Wyandotte Country. He had a love for all of God''s creation. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Pleasanton, enjoyed playing steel guitar and genealogy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mardene.

He later married Barbara Holland on January 20, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Simmons, five brothers: Charles, Seth, Edgar, Lester, and Luther, four sisters: Earline, Ethel, Maudie and Martha. Luther is survived by his wife, Barbara, a son, Lester Simmons, two daughters; Brenda Miller and Cheryl Peters, four step children: Thomas Long, Daniel Long, Rebecca Crossana and Heather Smith, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be at 1:30 at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Schneider Pleasanton Chapel, and from 11 am to service Thursday. Obituary - Brenda Darlene Wilson

Brenda Darlene Wilson, 71, of Billings, Missouri and formerly of Clinton, MO, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her home.

She was born November 7, 1946 in Paron, Arkansas, the daughter of John Cates and Cleeta (Breshears) Cates.

Brenda married Bill Wilson on November 20, 1964 in Clinton, Mo., and he survives of the home. She graduated from Clinton High School. Brenda owned and operated her tax accounting business in Clinton, MO, and Oak Grove, MO for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. Brenda and Bill spent the last 11 years traveling full time.

While living in Clinton, Brenda and Bill attended Northeast Baptist Church until 1982, then moved to Oak Grove, MO, attending First Baptist Church there. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She often spent her down time painting, gardening and reminiscing about their many adventures. She will be remembered for her kindness to others and the encouraging words she always seemed to have.

In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by one daughter, Shana Amer and her husband Randy, Oak Grove, MO; one granddaughter, Alyssa Carney and her husband Brandon, Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cleeta Cates; and brother Bill Cates.

Bring your stories, come and laugh and celebrate the life of Brenda Wilson from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Northeast Baptist Church, 7th and Lincoln Streets, Clinton, MO. Kansas woman arrested in Bates County

On 4/8/18 around 2:19am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 46 year old Dana S. Cole of Fulton, Kansas.

She was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Following to close.

Dana S. Cole was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and later released.

Butler man arrested on Felony Warrant


On 4/7/18 around 8:02pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 37 year old Justin L. Hannah of Butler, Missouri.
Mr. Hannah was arrested on 1.) Warrant -Felony charge alleging second-degree burglary and a 2.) Warrant - 1 count of misdemeanor stealing were filed against Hannah and the arrest warrant was issued Thursday, March 29th.


He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and is listed as bondable.
