The rule of a good outdoorsman is to always leave things better than you found them. With your help, that is exactly what we are doing. It’s easy to take for granted the great experiences and memories we create thanks to the access we enjoy to the great outdoors. But one of the reasons we are so fortunate today is our parents and grandparents recognized the importance of conservation.

Now it’s our turn to step up. Our mission is wetland conservation which is immeasurably important to the environment and wildlife. But do not forget the importance of the experiences and memories that these same wetlands will offer your children, their children and so on. Come help us protect this legacy so future generations can look back on the work we did and know that it made possible the nature they enjoy.

Come out and enjoy an evening with friends, neighbors, and family as we do our part for wetland conservation. Doors open at 5:00 pm, dinner at 6:00 pm and live auction at 7:00 pm. There will also be lots of games, raffles and a silent auction.

Please feel free to bring your kids as we will have prizes for them!

Purchase your tickets either online or from a committee member before May 1st and you will be entered into our early bird raffle at no additional cost.

Hume News April 23, 2018.

The Red Hat Ladies met at Shelia Morgan’s home on Tuesday the 10th of April with 9 members present. Ruth Spencer remarked that Sheila served the most delicious Spaghetti she has ever eaten in her old life and she must have the recipe. They had bunny ears to wear even though Easter was over and they even ate their lunch while wearing their bunny ears. Leona always has some games or riddles for us and that was a lot of fun.

Thank you Sheila for having us in your beautiful home. Those present were Rosemary Wakefield, MaryBeth Fornelli, Karen Springer, Karan Cannon, Leona Lovell, Sharon Sears, Carol Brooks, Ruth Spencer and the hostess Shelia Morgan.

The Booster Club hosted the Father/Daughter Dance last Saturday evening at the Hume Multi-purpose room. The girls all looked so cute dressed up being escorted by their Dad’s and/or Grandpa’s who filled in for the Dads that had to work. They all had a lot of fun.

The Hume Christian Church will be hosting a Sloppy Joe Feed for VBS on Sunday, April 29 at noon at the Church. VBS is always so much fun for the kids in the community.

The Hume Alliance Ministry Spaghetti feed was a huge success on Sunday. The day was a little rainy, but that didn’t stop people from coming out and enjoying the delicious Spaghetti and tons of delicious desserts. Several were lucky winners of the door prizes that were given away through out the dinner. Those door prizes were donated by various businesses and people. The dinner raised a little over $2400.00 and this will go to serve many in the food pantry. The Hume Alliance Ministry appreciates everyone who helped and all of those who came out in the rain.

The Hume High School Class of 1958 will meet at Sister’s & Friends CafĂ© at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26.
