Power Outage In Peculiar

Some citizens in the city of Peculiar are experiencing power outages in certain parts of the city.

Wind Advisory in effect tonight



We will see winds continue to increase this evening across eastern Kansas and western Missouri. Gusts of 35-40 mph, with a few gusts up to 50 mph, are expected later tonight. Wind Advisories are in effect for eastern Kansas and much of Missouri overnight tonight.

Wind advisories will continue into Sunday morning and afternoon for western Missouri, and through Sunday evening for the eastern half of Missouri. Strong winds will make travel difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Also, keep in mind that strong winds and falling snow will create hazardous, in not impossible, driving conditions up across far northwest Missouri and into Nebraska and Iowa where blizzard conditions will be ongoing tonight.

Obituary - Shirley Lorraine Carter

Shirley Lorraine Carter age 87 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Friday, February 22, 2019 at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore, Missouri.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jim Carter of the home; her son, Jason E. Carter and his wife Camby of Morton, Illinois; a daughter, Christi Feagins and her husband Bob of Raymore, Missouri; a sister, Odelia Mayfield of Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of LIfe serivce will be held at a later date at the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri and will be posted here as soon as that information becomes available.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Harrisonville, Missouri and may be sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432 Harrisonville, Missouri.

Lady Bears Basketball Team moves on to Sectionals

BHS Lady Bears Basketball Team moves on to Sectionals Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 7:45 at Sedalia Smith Cotton High School. 

Students grades 7-12 may ride the Spirit Bus for $1.00. 

Bus will leave BHS Student Parking lot at 5:30. Deadline to sign up is Tuesday at 3:00. Go Bears!

Butler man arrested on warrants

Trevor W. Pajula
On 2/22/19 around 5:15pm the Bates County Sheriff's Office arrested 28 year old Trevor W. Pajula of Butler, Missouri.

Mr. Pajula was arrested on 1.) Warrant Bates County Sheriff's Office - 2nd Degree Burglary 2.) Warrant Bates County Sheriff's Office - Theft/Stealing- Value of Property is $500 or more.

Trevor W. Pajula was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and placed on a $5,000.

Dangerous travel is still expected this evening in northwest MO and surrounding areas due to blizzard conditions. For the rest of us, we'll contend with periodic rain throughout the day, followed by gusty winds tonight.


Archie man arrested in Henry County

On 2/22/19 around 11:52pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County arrested 34 year old Brent A. Hartsell of Archie, Missouri.

Mr. Hartsell was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Possession of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana 3.) Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia 4.) Driving While Suspended 5.) Failure to Maintain a single lane of traffic 6.) Speeding.

Brent A. Hartsell was booked into the Henry County Jail in Clinton, Missouri and he is currently listed as bondable.
