One arrested after incident in Harrisonville

On Wednesday around 11:00 a.m. deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle in the 2000 block of Meadowlark Drive in Harrisonville. After a brief chase the vehicle became disabled at the intersection of Meghan Drive and Meadowlark Drive. The driver fled from the vehicle and ran into a field south of the neighborhood.

Over twenty law enforcement officers from the Harrisonville Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office surrounded and searched the area with the assistance of two Cass County K9 Teams and UAV. The fact that the suspect was contained and located within our search area shows what good training and multi-agency cooperation can do,” said Sheriff Jeff Weber.

Use caution when driving in the heat

Man, it's a hot one... ☀️🌡️🔥
A dangerous heat wave is upon us. If you're traveling in temps this high, use extra caution:
▪️Check your battery and tire pressure before heading out to avoid getting stranded. And pack water just in case!
▪️This heat can cause weakened pavement to buckle, so take it slow and beware of "blow-ups."
▪️ALWAYS look before you lock. Don't leave children or pets in your car.
