Jeffrey Jay Harper, 57, Raymore, MO, died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at his home. No services are scheduled at this time.

VBS at Immanuel Baptist Church In Butler

It’s time for Vacation Bible School at Immanuel Baptist Church! Bring your 3 year old through 6th graders starting Monday, July 29th at 6PM.

Flying in the wind again!



The American and the Missouri flags fly over the Butler Senior Center again after a short time of absence thanks to Gary Bollweg of Bollweg Electric and Ralph Allen Volunteer Veteran Leader. A new rope was bought from Corner Hardware.

Obituary - JoAnn Frances Gerant

JoAnn Frances Gerant, 76, Peculiar, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, July 25, 2019 surrounded by love and family at the Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Gerant of the home; a son, Michael Gerant Jr. and wife Sheila, Peculiar, Missouri; a daughter, Jennie Gonzalez and husband Alfredo, Raymore, Missouri; 5 granddaughters, JoAnna, Rebecca, Jacqueline, Kaitlyn and Jessica; her mother, Jennie Fontaine, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Dickey Funeral Home with inurnment in the Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri following the service.

Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Kansas City Hospice.

Butler Bears Football Camp In Full Swing



The Butler Bear Football team had a great two day contact camp yesterday and today with Lamar, Clinton and Lockwood. Everyone that attended is in the pic. Great days to be a bear!#punchtheclock

Hume woman injured in Bates County Crash

On 7/26/19 around 12:40am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County responded to a one vehicle accident on Route A and CR 8007 in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2013 Chevrolet driven by 49 year old Carol M. Thomas of Hume, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway,striking a road sign.

Carol M. Thomas sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle was towed from the scene of this accident by Don's Tow of Butler.
