Hume Fire Fundraiser gets spicy hot...

The Hume Fire Department held their annual Chili Cook-off and Auction Saturday evening, October 3rd, at the Hume Community building. A good crowd attended and enjoyed a variety of delicious chili's, from traditional recipes to "call out more trucks to put out the FIRE" spicy! Winner of that competition was Nicole Brooks.

The auction brought some good bids, helping the local Fire Department raise funds to assist in purchasing additional equipment. Highlights of the auction included a quilt topping $200 to some mouth-watering baked goods bringing well over $50 to a jar of pickles approaching $70. Following those events, a "5k Run" was scheduled.

A big thank you goes to everyone who attended in support of our local fire department. - our thanks to Larry Hacker
