Obituary - Cheryl Smith

Cheryl C. Smith, 59 of Butler, Missouri was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 after a battle with COVID-19. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660)679-0009. A visitation will be held just prior to the funeral from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri.

Born August 5, 1961 in Butler, MO. Cheryl was raised by her grandparents Randolph and Georgia Fluty of Ballard, Mo. She met the love of her life, Dean E. Smith in the summer of 1978. They were married on October 13th, 1979. They had a blessed 41 years together.

Cheryl and Dean nearly had two years of adventures before they welcomed their first child in February of 1981. Four years later they welcomed a son. The family resided in Hayden, CO but later relocated to their family farm in Butler, MO. Cheryl made her family her life’s work. Cheryl loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family will tell you that Cheryl had the kindest most patient heart; was always supportive and encouraging. She had a way of making everyone around her feel such an amazing sense of comfort. Cheryl was wise and had an immeasurable strength about her. Cheryl lived for her family. She loved visiting her grandkids, gardening, crocheting, cooking amazing meals, making homemade crafts and having family gatherings. Cheryl had an ever-strong faith and a laugh that was infectious. She truly shined from the inside out. Cheryl lived every moment she was given.

She is survived by her husband Dean Smith, son Josh Smith, daughter and son-in-law, Miranda & Jerry Wolf, and grandchildren Korbin, Kember and Kelby, along with many dear cousins who she loved as her own children.
