Updated Obituary - Leota Mae Hunt

Funeral services for Leota Mae Hunt will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to services from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Leota Mae Hunt, age 102 of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at her caregiver’s residence in Butler. She was born May 20, 1918 to Ira and Ellen Mae Smith in Clinton, Missouri.

Leota is survived by two sons, Kenneth Hunt and wife Sue of Elm Mott, Texas and Dean Hunt of Butler, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kendra Kelley and husband Gary and Dale Hunt and fiancĂ© Sherrill Caddel all of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Robert Hunt and wife Nikki of Elm Mott, Texas, Shelly Wright and husband Robert of Lexington, Kentucky, Sara Hoffman and husband Mark of Omaha, Nebraska, Rebecca Colling and husband Derrick of Kansas City, Missouri and Gary Hunt of Butler, Missouri; ten great-grandchildren, Mathew Olson (who proceeded her in death in 2010) and wife Salli of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Kirby Gibbs and husband Lane of Nichols Hills, Oklahoma, Kali Skerik and husband Tyler and Kortney Varga and husband Seth all of West, Texas, Jake Eaves of Clovis, New Mexico, Kate Eaves of Arroyo Grande, California, Grayson Hunt of Springfield, Missouri, Gary Kelley Jr. and wife Dorthie of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Greta Colling and Jack Colling both of Kansas City, Missouri; eight great-great-grandchildren, Whitt Wilson, Boyer Olson, Jessie Kelley, Rahlen Gibbs, Norah Gibbs, Evan Skerik, Jolee Skerik and Alexis Eaves; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hunt; son, Charles Hunt; and great-grandson, Mathew Olson.
