News from the Adrian R-3 School District

Dear Blackhawks;
In response to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, the Adrian R-III School District will limit attendance at home athletic competitions and extracurricular activities through the remainder of the 2020-21 school year to help reduce further spread of the virus. The new protocols will go into effect Monday, December 7.

The school district will restrict spectators at each home game (middle school through varsity) in an effort to increase social distancing in gyms across the district.

Entrance into activities will be limited to up to two people per participant. Tickets will be issued to each participant for distribution to family members. There will be only one set of doors to enter and those will be the north doors from the student parking lot.

Young siblings of participants (grade 5 and under) will be permitted without a ticket.

No outside spectators, including students will be permitted entrance without a ticket.

As we continue to monitor the COVID situation in our community and school, our goal is to continue to offer our students opportunities while trying to minimize risks and disruptions to the education of the Adrian students.

We’re putting these protocols in place right now to ensure that games and other events can take place safely and that the attendance of family members is still possible. The first events under these new rules will be, Dec. 7.

Other protocols
Masks are required to be worn by all spectators.
Protocols for away venues will be made public and followed for all away activities.
Cheerleaders will perform at home games only.

Thank You,
Don Lile
Adrian RIII School Superintendent
