Obituary - David C. Trickey

David Clyde Trickey, 72, a resident of Country Lane Assisted Living in Riverton, IL and formerly of Virginia, IL, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020.

He was born April 17, 1948, in Jeffersonville, IN, the son of the Rev. Alden H. and Mary L. Taylor Trickey.

He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Matt (Andrea) Trickey of Williamsville, Daniel (Kyleigh) Trickey of Adrian, MO, Chad (Brooke) Trickey of Kilbourne, and Kimberly Trickey of Michigan; ten grandchildren, Bradley Trickey, Bryson Trickey, Brenton Trickey, Blain Trickey, Baylor Trickey, Olivia Trickey, Amelia Trickey, Landry Trickey, Malik Evans, and Malcolm Evans; and two brothers, Roy Trickey of Kenabeek, Ontario, Canada, and Robert H. (Masako) Trickey of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister in infancy, Mary Belle.

Mr. Trickey loved learning and had earned several degrees including a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Divinity. He was manager of the family farm and enjoyed caring for the livestock. He had a passion for teaching and loved reading. He was an avid collector and enjoyed attending auctions and museums. He also enjoyed traveling and taking pictures of the scenery.

Private family services will be held with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Memorial gifts are suggested to Sangamon Valley Presbyterian Church. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent online at buchanancody.com.
