Obituary - Stanley Eugene Ford

Stanley Eugene Ford, 72, Moundville, MO passed away on Monday, December 07, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO following a lengthy illness. Stan was born July 5, 1948 in Ft. Scott, KS to Frances W. and Bertha M. (Riley) Ford. On December 22, 1968 he was united in marriage to Norma L. Salters in Hume, MO and she survives of the home.

Stan grew up in the Bronaugh area and graduated from Bronaugh High School Class of 1966. He attended Pittsburg State University where he received his bachelor’s degree. Following college Stan worked for a number of years as a mechanic in Ft. Scott and also farmed. He has worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor for the past 23 years and has been employed by Compass Health in Nevada for the past 20 years.

Stan was an avid outdoorsman where enjoyed hunting and fishing, was always in attendance in his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, and most of all loved being with his family. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, KS.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of the home, three children, Antonette Sweeden (Kevin) of Springdale, AR, Amy Dew (Rob), Leach, OK, and Amanda Pollock (Jeff), Duncan, OK, seven grandchildren, Courtney Bunch, Caitlyn, Bunch, C. Ryleigh Bunch, Tristyn Searles, Avry Searles, Ayden Pollock, and Jordan Pollock. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, James Ford.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Bro Rick Womack officiating. Interment will follow in the Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. Those who wish may contribute to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
