Obituary -Velma Veryl Willis

Velma Willis, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Research Hospital Kansans City, MO. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 2pm at Vansant-Mills Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior. Internment will follow at Tebo Cemetery Leesville, MO. Velma Veryl (Byrum) Willis was born April 29, 1938 to Herbert and Velma (Summers) Byrum. Velma married John Willis. She enjoyed playing games and going to the Casinos. Velma was known to be very kind and never met a stranger. She had always hoped to win the lottery to help others. Velma was a very social person and loved to help people.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Phyllis Ebeling, a son Ira Jud Paxton, 2 infant sisters, and an infant brother.

Velma is survived by her husband John, daughters, Susan Church, Judy (Ron) Warner, and Cheryl Willis, grandchildren Cher Wilson, Andrea Wilson, Johnna (Jeff) Lauffer, Justin Warner, Allyssa Warner, Janelle Dacy, Scott (Kelly) Drake, Thomas (TJ) Willis, Jenna Adams and Addie Adam, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO.


Obituary- Harriet E Stanley

Harriet Stanley, age 72, of the Sugar Valley Community near Mound City, Kansas passed away on Friday May 8, 2020.

Graveside service will be held 1 pm Thursday May 14, 2020 at the Woodland Cemetery. A drive through visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm Wednesday at the Mound City First Baptist Church.

SONIC Drive-In of Butler Update

Due to supply chain shortages, SONIC has a limited supply of beef. To serve as many customers as possible, until further notice, SONIC Drive-In of Butler is only selling single patty cheeseburgers. Since we expect to run out of some menu items, we removed our Order Ahead App feature. 

We will only offer discounted drinks during our Morning Drink Stop fro͏m 7am-10am, and Happy Hour from 2pm-4pm EVERYDAY. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support and understanding during these times.
