Obituary - Pam Evette Olson

Pam Evette Olson, age 63, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in Tightwad, MO. Memorial services will be held Monday, June 15, 2020 1PM at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will follow in a private family service.

Pamela Evette Olson was born February 11, 1957 to Homer and Anna (Simmons) Nibel in Indianapolis, IN. She enjoyed crafts, balloon art, and traveling. Pam had visited Hawaii multiple times.She was an animal lover and had rescued many dogs and birds over the years. She was a ham radio operator and inherited her dad's call sign of "W0UHN". Pam was a para professional at Leesville school for 3 years and a substitute teacher at Leesville and Clinton Middle School. Pam was a secretary at Henry Elementary for 19 years.

Pam is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and beloved cousin Cindy Mosley.

Pam is survived by her husband, Kevin Olson of the home, children, Heather Hublou (Jarid King) Breanne Olson (Jermie Arnold), grandchildren, Jaiden King, Kylie King, Hadley Arnold, Chrys Paz and Alan Paz, along with a host of family, friends, and her favorite fur babies.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton.

Rollover accident this morning in Vernon County

On 6/12/20 around 7:45am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident with one rollover on US 54 Highway around 4 miles west of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 17 year old Chad E. Ramsey of Walker, Missouri struck the rear of the 2001 Sterling Concrete truck driven by 50 year old Anthony J. Waniska of Osceola, Missouri. After impact the Silverado overturned.

Chad E. Ramsey sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by private vehicle to Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs, Missouri for treatment.

The Chevrolet Silverado was totaled and towed from the scene of this accident by TCB Towing of Nevada, Missouri.

Obituary - Becky Jo Byrd

Becky Jo Byrd age 63 of Raymore, Missouri departed this life Thursday, June 11, 2020 at her home surrounded with family and love.

Cremation. No services are scheduled.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice and may be sent in care of The Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.

Obituary - Charles "Chuck" Edward Trautman

Charles E. “Chuck” Trautman, 73, Nevada, MO passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Chuck was born August 28, 1946 in Ravenna, OH to John and Dorothy (Reed) Trautman.

Chuck grew up in Ohio and graduated from school there. He has lived in Nevada since 1975. Chuck was an LPN and worked at various jobs including Medicalodges in Nevada, and Heartland Hospice. He enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, collecting coins, fishing, shooting pool, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Trautman also of the home; two sons, Charles Edward Trautman, II, of Nevada, and Jason Trautman of Nevada; grandchildren, Drake Trautman, Abigail Trautman, and Matthew Trautman; a brother, Robert Trautman (Linda), Warren, OH; two sisters, Darlene Miskiewicz, Warren, OH and JoAnn Krepps, Warren, OH. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

No services are planned.

Property Damage Reported In Nevada

Stolen vehicle recovered, driver arrested during traffic stop near Sheldon MO

A Monett resident is in custody following a traffic stop by a Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy near N HWY and 1575 RD just West of Sheldon in Vernon County Wednesday morning. 

According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, a deputy observed a 2008 Chevy Impala make several minor traffic violations and using the computer in his vehicle, checked the registration, which came back as stolen from Barry County. 

The deputy then made a traffic stop and was able to place the driver into custody without incident. Suspected methamphetamine's were also located in the vehicle. The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old James D Riley.

A warrant was issued by the courts Wednesday afternoon, charging Riley with; Tampering With a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Revoked. Riley is being held in the Vernon County jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.

Two injured in Cass County Crash

On 6/11/20 around 5:15pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at E 195th and Peculiar Drive in the Peculiar area of Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2000 Honda driven by 25 year Autumn M. Perry of Belton, Missouri entered into the path and struck the 2001 Toyota driven by 60 year old Molly I. Shaffer of Grandview, Missouri.

Both women sustained minor injuries in this accident and both were transported by ambulance to Belton Regional Medical Center for treatment.
