From the desk of Ward 4 Butler City Councilman Dale Newkirk

Just an update on this last weeks council meeting. Council voted to pay the bills.

Next we discussed the almost $6k a dealer wanted to replace the pump on the cemetery backhoe. Some of the council researched the cost of the pump and found many available at less than half the cost. Council decided to approve the cost of a replacement and the required gauges to set the pressure and do the repairs in house.

This should save the city 40 to 50 percent off the original estimate.
Report from personal committee is they are real close to recommending a new pay package for city employees so we can be ready to comply with the new minimum wage law.
We were only in session about an hour so not much more to report.

I did announce my candidacy for reelection and look forward to serving the people of ward 4 again.
Respectfully
Dale Newkirk
Ward 4 councilman
