Obituary - Esther Louise Christie

Esther Louise Christie, 93 of Nevada, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Joplin, MO. She was born January 18, 1927 in Anson, KS, where she graduated from Conway Springs High School. She married Albert Christie a retired Navy Bell Diver. The couple traveled the United States while Albert was working on missile silos being built during the cold war. 

The couple then started the adventure of mining gold in the Fair Play, Colorado area for a few years during the spring and summer and also lumbered in the same area. The couple moved to Detroit for 20 years and then located to Nevada to be near their son Glen. Esther enjoyed writing poerty, and the country life. She has always been a devout Christian and a blessing to her family. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a son, Glen L. Christie and wife Sharon of Nevada; seven grandchildren, Glen E. Christie, Lance C. Christie, John B. Christie, Naomi R. Christie, C. Patrick Christie, Gene P. Christie, Carol A. Tate, Richard Redenbaugh, Misty Redenbaugh, and great-granddaughter Catherine Perkins whom she raised, also fifteen great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Mildred Briles of California, a host of extended family and special friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 16, 2021 in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jacob Jones of the Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Antioh Cemetery at a later time.
