Obituary - Joan Wiley Kirchhofer

Joan Wiley Kirchhofer, age 84 years, passed away peacefully Monday, January 4th, 2021 at her long time residence in Clinton, Missouri. 

She was surrounded by her caregiver of 16 years, Sheila Cummins Strickland, and family. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday, January 8, 2020 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions to Golden Valley Memorial Hospice, and may be left in care of the funeral home. Born on March 4th, 1936 in Calhoun Missouri to parents Charles Cecil Wiley and Lida Askins Wiley. On February 14th, 1982 she married George Edward Kirchhofer in Hermann, MO.

In Her early years she attended Stephens College, a private women’s college in Columbia, MO where she acquired a Bachelor’s Degree. She was an active member of her sorority and later served in the local chamber of Commerce in Clinton, MO. Her family owned Wiley’s Fine Foods located on the Clinton Square where she spent many hours working and developing her love and talent of cooking. In 1982 Joan and her late husband George Purchased K&K enterprises otherwise known as Talley Amusement and Sign Company. When she was not working she loved to travel and take cruises or enjoy a social outing at Meadow Lake Country Club and Clinton Country Club.

She had a big heart and was always there to help anyone who asked. Her greatest joy was having so many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her Daughter Jennifer S. Clouse of Clinton, MO, step son George T. (Tammy) Kirchhofer of Kingsville step daughter Beth ( Wes) Frentrop of Olathe, KS and a daughter-in-law Natalie Entrop of Clinton, MO. 10 grandchildren Summer, Autumn, and Skyler Kirchhofer, Ashley Jones, Garrett and Emily Frentrop, Cassi ( Chris) Ferris, Cayleigh Clouse, Brian Campbell, Lacey ( Kyle) Goth, great grandchildren Alia Jones, Jaxon, Johnna and Ryan Ferris, Akillian Clouse and Jemma Goth, and one brother in law Bob ( Nancy) Kirchhofer of Hermann, MO, 3 nieces and 6 nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
