Obituary - Russell Lare Dark

Age: 73 Years, 11 Months, 27 Days

Russell Lare Dark passed away at his home in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 73 years on January 23, 2021. Russell was born on August 27, 1947, the first child of Edna Mae (Watts) Dark and Marshall Eugene Dark. The family moved from Collins, Missouri to Arkansas when he was young and then later back to Missouri where he graduated from high school in Dexter, Missouri in 1965.

Russell attended Southwest Baptist University and graduated from there in 1969, at which time he attended Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City. He received his degree as a chiropractor in 1977.

Russ married Connie Whitlock, from Kansas City, in 1974 and that union produced a son, Christopher Matthew Dark, who currently resides in the Kansas City area. Russell practiced in Kansas City, then in Appleton City and Rockville, and later in Tulsa Oklahoma. He was an excellent chiropractor, skilled in his craft and gentle in his approach to a more holistic type of chiropractic health treatment.

Russell enjoyed collecting items and thrift shopping as well as puttering in his flower and vegetable garden and raising and tending to his tropical fish.

Russell’s surviving relatives are his son Christopher Matthew Dark of Kansas City, two sisters, Marsha Dark of Appleton City and Beth (Dark) Hough (Bob) of Rockville, four cousins and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family
