Nevada woman injured in three vehicle crash west of Nevada

On 2/23/21 around 3:30pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a to 3 vehicle accident on Missouri 54 Highway around one mile west of Nevada.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when 2006 Chrysler driven by 31 year old Sylvia Matson of Nevada, Missouri was stopped prior to attempting a left hand turn when a 2011 Mazda CX7 driven by 47 year old Stephanie Ayers of Sheldon, Missouri tried to make a left turn in front of a 1991 Peterbilt driven by 49 year old Dan Wilson of Jasper, Missouri and both vehicles were struck.

Sylvia Matson sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri for treatment.

Neither Ayers nor Wilson was hurt.
