Obituary -Harold "Hal" Alward

Harold "Hal" Alward ,age 75, passed away Monday, February 22nd, 2021 at his home in Aurora, Missouri. A private family burial will be held in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com

Hal was born June 6th, 1945 to LeeRoy Alward Jr and Roberta (Rohweller) Alward in San Francisco, CA.

Hal served in the U.S. Army in Military Intelligence from 1965-1968. He went on to work on the Alaska pipeline and was a big game guide on Kenai Island. His final career was as an engineer for fiber optic cable networks.

Hal was a nature lover and could identify almost any animal. He enjoyed feeding and watching birds, his favorite pastime was fishing out on his boat, and if he could take someone along all the better. He loved old cars and trucks and enjoyed collecting the Hallmark ornaments of the same. He also had a large Santa Clause Collection he loved putting out every year.

Hal married his wife Virginia (Cris)Alward November 11th, 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Roberta Alward and his sister Sandra Alward. He is survived by his wife Cris of the home; one daughter Charlotte Alward of Kansas City, MO; two sons Aaron (Kelly)Crust of Lee’s Summit, MO and Jacob (Crystal)Crust of Anderson, MO; four grandchildren Ambrielle Michelle Wimsatt of Grain Valley, MO, Asher Crust, Sutton Crust and Hudson Crust; three great grandchildren Grayson Wimsatt, Violet Wimsatt and Lyla Sneethen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
