Update: Evergy Power outages:

Update: Evergy Power outages;

Evergy did resume rolling power outages this morning which affected user in the Kansas City Metro area on both sides of the state line.

As of 10:15, the SPP (Southwest Power Pool) has lifted the current order and intermittent outages have been suspended at this time by Evergy.

Outages could resume over the next 24 hours or so depending on possible energy deficiencies due to extreme cold weather.

Below are a few suggestions on how to reduce electrical use which includes:

Setting thermostats to 68 degrees or lower.

Suspending use of electrical appliances (dishwashers, washing machines, clothes dryers, vacuum cleaners, etc.)

Putting off tasks at work, if possible, that would demand electricity (power tools, maintenance equipment, etc.).

Turning off televisions and electronic equipment unless they are necessary to conduct business or to ensure your health and safety.

Turn off unnecessary lighting, leaving on only enough to move about safely indoors.
