There will be many dressed in period uniform along with participation from the Missouri National Guard. Climax of the ceremony will include the presentation of a flag and commemorative display case to the Bates County Museum which will be proudly added to the museum’s Civil War collection.
Sergeant Freeman Davis (February 28, 1842 – February 23, 1899) was an American soldier who fought in the American Civil War. Davis received the country's highest award for bravery during combat, the Medal of Honor, for his action during the Battle of Missionary Ridge in Tennessee on 25 November 1863.
