Obituary - Betty Anne Freeman

Betty Anne Freeman, 81, of Kingsville, Missouri, died Saturday, May 22, 2021 surrounded by her beloved family at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation just prior to the funeral from 1:00-2:00 pm. Burial to follow immediately in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Betty was born July 1, 1939 in Tampa, Florida, a daughter of James and Laura Pettis. She was united in marriage to Randolph Stuart Freeman, Sr. on August 28, 1956. Betty lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Kingsville, MO. She had worked as a Quality Assurance Inspector for Anaconda-Ericsson Wire and Cable in Harrisonville and Union Wire and Rope in Kansas City before her retirement in 2004. She attended Elm Spring Baptist Church in Kingsville. “Mokey”, as she was known for and liked to be fondly called by her grandchildren, was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and aunt. She absolutely loved to play dice and Farkle and was a score-keeper like no other.

Betty was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, a daughter, Ruth Hull, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Steed, a great-grandson, Zane Donaldson, one brother. James Pettis of Mayfield, KY and two sisters, Marie Lightner of Perry, OH and Laura Palmer of Plant City, FL.

She is survived by a son, Randolph Freeman, Jr., Holden, MO; four daughters: Amanda and husband Russell Wigginton, Kingsville, MO; Laura Maxfield, Bedford, VA; Deborah and husband Wesley Schnorf, Harrisonville, MO; and Rebecca and husband Dennis Dinneny, Holden MO; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, and many other relatives and friends.
