Old High School Thrift Shop Meets in Butler

We held our quarterly meeting on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10am at the home of Ruby Stotmeister. Ruby opened the meeting with prayer.

Roll call was answered by 8 members representing 6 area churches: Zelda Coleman, Brenda Darr, Charlotte Guss, Elaine Hellwig, Donna Kaufman, Paula Shaffer, Ramona Snyder and Ruby Stotmeister. The February minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Elaine gave her report. Thanks to God who blessed our shop with the amount of $7000 to donate this quarter. The recommendations were made, voted on and carried. They are; Ministerial Alliance, Butler Library, Children’s Center, Butler Senior Center, BaCo Transport and Lily’s House in Adrian.

Business items discussed included: the success of the ½ price sale in April, many thanks to all who worked so hard. Another sale will be scheduled in the fall. The shop days and hours will remain the same for the summer: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1-4:30pm. The Board revised some of the Covid restrictions: limit of 6 adults with no more than 4 children at one time; masks are optional; the use of hand sanitizer will be required by adults and children. Schedules were discussed and adjustments were made. A new collection box is still on the horizon.

We thank God for blessing our Old High School Thrift Shop with faithful volunteers, customers, the City of Butler, the community for donations and our loyal “behind the scene” ladies-Karla, Linda, Shawnda and Stephanie, all working together to make the shop a blessing for many people. The next Quarterly Board Meeting will be August 16, 2021. Meeting adjourned at 11am.
