WMATMA Great Beginnings: Kevin Prier and the C.A. Walter Ford Truck

By Don Arndt
About 1998 C.A. Walter gave us his 1957 Ford F100 in his will along with $5,000 in cash. Shortly after his passing, since he was such a huge supporter of WMAT MA, we built the Mill House using those funds. The F100 we now owned was restored and C.A. being a real gear head, had rebuilt a 1955 Thunderbird 292 Y block and put in it. Several men have been our "caretaker and operator" of the old classic Ford truck, but for the last 4 years it has sat quietly waiting for the right guy to come along. Kevin Prier was that guy! Only a couple weeks ago Kevin got the keys to the old girl. He had to do a lot of maintenance of course, but it needed a starter and a battery just to begin bringing the old Ford Back to life. After he rebuilt the carburetor and lots of other issues that happen when they sit for a time, he has it DONE! It runs great now, and he's drove it around the Village enough to know it doesn't overheat. Kudos to Kevin for a job well done.
