Severe Weather Possible Friday Night & Saturday

Although a quiet weather day is expected today with highs in the low to mid 80s, this weekend looks to be much more active. A few scattered thunderstorms may be possible during the day Friday however, most of the day should remain dry.

Temperatures will be hot with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Friday night, storms will move into the area from the north and these storms will have the potential to be severe with the main threat being damaging winds however, an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

Another round of storms Saturday afternoon and evening may also be severe. These rounds of storms will also be capable of producing very heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding as well as river flooding. A large area of northern Missouri may receive 2 to 4 inches of rain with up to 6 inches possible locally.
