Obituary - Anthony Ryan Lehenbauer

Anthony “Tony” Ryan Lehenbauer, age 43, of Overland Park, Kansas was taken too soon, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, surrounded by his loving family members.

A visitation service will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Evangel Church, 1414 E. 103rd Street in Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Tony was born in Rochester, Minnesota on January 13, 1978 to John Lehenbauer and Bonita (Watters) Lehenbauer. He attended high school at Nixa High School and continued his education at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri achieving his Bachelor’s degree in Business. Tony was joined in marriage to his wife, Ashley (Totten) on November 10, 2012 and their union was blessed with two sons, Asa and Duke. Tony also succeeded professionally, enjoying a fulfilling 17 year career as the Vice President of Sales for WEX, Inc.

In life, Tony was a man of Christian faith, knowing and loving the Lord. His rich spirit showed through his love for his family, exploring, cooking, fine wines, and fine foods. Tony’s family meant everything to him, spending any free time he had with his two boys playing Legos or other games. He loved watching sports, especially KU and the Kansas City Chiefs. Tony was a superb chef who would treat family and friends to exquisite meals paired perfectly with a great bottle of wine, and the story of its origin. When Christmas came around, Tony was the first to make sure decorations were up, lighting up the house with decorations as well as with his brilliant smile.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, John L. Lehenbauer and uncle, Kent Lehenbauer.

Left to cherish Tony’s memory are his two sons, Asa and Duke Lehenbauer; his loving wife who shares over 15 years of memories, Ashley Lehenbauer ; mother, Bonita Lehenbauer; three sisters, Amy Martin (Daniel), Angela Baker (Jimmy), and Lacey Allen (Shea); and ten nieces and nephews, Ashton Baker, Toby Baker, Alex Martin, Fabian Baker, Aden-Jay Baker, Julia Baker, Jackson Martin, Layla Allen, Saige Allen, and Scarlett Allen.
