Obituary - Clayton Eldon “Pete” Wolford

Clayton Eldon “Pete” Wolford age 78 of Adrian, Missouri passed away on September 29, 2021. A visitation will held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). 

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Satruday, also at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Pete was born January 17, 1943 in Bakersfield, California the son of Clayton and Polly Wolford. He was united in marriage to Margaret S.Overturf on February 9, 1972. Pete was a very selfless man who would give anybody anything that he had. If you needed a place to stay his door was always open. In life he enjoyed old westerns, John Wayne, playing poker, auctions, races, and listening to his son in laws play music. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy. He was very proud of everyone of them and they were all his “babies”. He had many stories to tell about his life and the many experiences he encountered in his early years as he worked in the oilfields of California. Later in life he started his own company “Precision Hydraulics” where he worked with his two brothers until he retired.

Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Margaret Wolford, 2 sons Eldon and George Wolford, 4 sisters, 4 brothers, and his parents. He is survived by his children – Phillip and wife Pat Eskew of Louisiana, Jeff Overturf of Arkansas, Clayton Wolford and wife Kelly of Warsaw, Missouri, Tiffany Turner of Butler, Missouri, David Wolford of Adrian, Missouri, Dwayne Wolford of Liberty, Missouri, Michelle Parks of Belton, Missouri, Tommy Wolford of Ballard, Missouri, Virginia and husband Doug Nelson of Adrian, Missouri, Rose and Husband Tim Hickey of California, and Sue and husband Steve Nelson of Adrian, Missouri. Two sisters Suzi Scaparro of Oregon, and Joann Talent of California. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
