He drove a truck for Stevens Produce in Prescott and Joe Rei Trucking in Blue Mound. He then became a full time farmer. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Pinkerton on June 11, 1961 in the Mantey United Methodist Church. They are the parents of one son, Larry Lee Holmes. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Milton and Jay, a sister, Elma Casida Avery and a nephew Jay Lee Casida. Leon is survived by his wife, Marilyn, son Larry Holmes, four grandsons, Larry Leon(Chip), Levi Joseph, Luke Donovan Lee, and Lane Laford, three great grandchildren, Kenny, Brailee and Lillian, four nieces and three nephews.
