Linn County Kansas Sheriff’s Office received a grant from the National De-escalation Training Center

The Linn County Kansas Sheriff’s Office has received a grant from the National De-escalation Training Center (NDTC) and Ft. Hays State University in the amount of $19,911 for the training of Linn County Sheriff’s personnel. This grant will allow Deputies to train in the most current tactics in de-escalation and community policing initiatives. Two Deputies will be selected to serve as trainers in the program allowing us to continue training for our staff and other agencies, in the future.

Deputies have received this type of training in the past, but not to the level of having the ability to train others in the discipline of de-escalation. This program will also offer a national certification to our personnel. We are proud to announce the receipt of the grant as this will better our community and allow Deputies to train to higher levels. In the attachment you will find a flyer that may answer a few more questions that you may have.
