Obituary - Steven Alan Lininger

Steven Alan Lininger, age 51, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his home in Grandview, Missouri.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Manna Fellowship Church, 17617 S. State Rte 291, Pleasant Hill, Missouri 64080. A funeral service will begin immediately thereafter, followed by interment at Raymore Cemetery, Raymore, Missouri.

Steve was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 17, 1970 to Fred Lininger and Charlotte (Cary) Lininger. After graduating from Ray-Pec, he furthered his education at Southwest Missouri State University. Early in his life Steve committed to working in the food service industry, most recently as the General Manager of Applebee’s in Belton, Missouri, where his combined passion for food and people was able to flourish. Steve never met a stranger, and he dedicated himself to creating both long-term relationships and daily smiles. Most important to Steve was his family and friends, with whom he always jumped at the opportunity to spend time with. He was an avid golfer, and for every day spent in the restaurant, you could count on him to match it with a day on the course. His love for life was infectious, and he touched everyone blessed with the opportunity to meet him. Although Steve’s presence was often too big for words, he was able to condense his message to all into simple but powerful words, “Hug Big, Love Bigger.”

Steve is survived by his two loving sons, Austin and Alec Lininger; loving parents, Fred and Charlotte Lininger; two brothers, Don Lininger (Angie) and Ron Lininger (Kristin); nieces and nephews, Erika Lininger, Alicia Mau (Chris), Keith Lininger, Kelsey Donyina (Foster), Taylor Lininger McLean (Kyle), Trevor Lininger (Abby Goulding), and Taryn Lininger; two great nieces and one great nephew, Sunni, Errett, and Cali Mau; aunt, Shirley Lininger; uncle and aunt, James and Ellie Shields; and uncle and aunt, Denny and Patricia Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations of any kind be made to the Belton/Mt. Pleasant Township Welfare Association (3301 E. 187th Street, Belton, MO 64012) ℅ Diana Thomas
