UPDATE: Warsaw man charged with murder after Tuesday morning shooting

Jason L. Kroenke who was taken into custody this morning on a 24 hour investigative hold has now been formally charged with Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action in the shooting death of  27 year old Tarah D. McIntyre. Kroenke is being held without bond.

It is through the efforts of our newly formed detectives division of your Benton County Sheriff's Office that yielded today's results. Detective John Snyder and investigator Don Wagenknecht have over 50 years of combined experience and training. Benton County has needed a full time detective for years but due to staffing issues and budget constraints, was an impossibility.

A full time detective can focus his complete attention on a particular case without being interrupted by other calls for service. Snyder has been with Benton County for a number of years and was recently promoted to his new position.

Wagenknecht has over two decades with the Minneapolis Police Department  and is a POST certified deputy sheriff, who donates his time for the betterment of this great county. These individuals along with the professional deputies who initiated and helped work the investigation,  were instrumental in the pursuit of justice in a tragic, loss of life.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tarah's friends and family. When a life is taken from our community, we all feel the loss.
