Todd Fine, Director of Diagnostic Imagining at Nevada Regional Medical Center, recently announced that Kaylyn Crystal has passed her MRI Registry and is now a Registered MRI Technologist. An MRI is a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner.
Interestingly, Kaylyn is the first person with such a certification to ever be employed at NRMC. She received her Associate Degree in Radiology at Labette Community College and her certification as a Registered MRI Technologist from Washburn University in Topeka. Her work involves operating the MRI equipment, educating patients on what to expect, and making them feel more comfortable with the whole experience.
She also gives them IV drugs in order to provide a better contrast for the scanned images. Those images are then given to physicians who use them to better assess the condition of the patient. Congratulations, Kaylyn! Keep up the good work!
