Obituary - Clyde Allen Bley

Clyde Allen Bley, 85, formerly of Moundville, MO passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Wildwood Senior Living in Joplin, MO. Clyde was born June 26, 1936 in Deerfield, MO to Charles C. and Viva (Clyburn) Bley. He married Thelma LaDene Klontz on January 25, 1956 in Ft. Scott, KS and she survives of the home.

Clyde, a lifelong resident of Moundville, graduated from Nevada High School in 1954. He worked for Joseph L. Pohl Construction for 40 years until his retirement and was a longtime member of Operating Engineers Local #101. Throughout his life, Clyde also farmed and raised cattle. He enjoyed fishing, quail hunting, and coon hunting.

In addition to his wife LaDene, he is survived by three children: Brenda Young (Clifford) Bentonville, AR, Allen Bley (Janet), Moundville, MO, and Doug Bley (Teri), Moundville, MO; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Gulliford, Nevada, and Charlene Widmar, Franklin, KS; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marvin Bley, and Lee Bley; sister, Glenna Gordon; and an infant sister, Chelsea.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Memory Gardens in Ft. Scott, KS with Pastor Adam Gordon officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
