Kenneth Ray Herdman passed away peacefully at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri on December 1, 2021, age 69. He was born October 28, 1951, the son of Raymond Calvin and Marjorie (Mae) King. He graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, Missouri, in 1969. After the completion of his education, Ken worked for General Motors as an automotive laborer until his retirement. Later, he met and married Tamara Mullen on October 28, 2017, his longtime sweetheart of 21 years. They shared 5 children: Daniel, Matt, Stephanie, Brianna, and Nick.
His family was the most important thing in his life, and he loved spending time with them. Along with this, Ken spent many happy hours pursuing his favorite hobby of rock and arrowhead hunting. He loved to be outdoors and spend time in nature. He also enjoyed gardening. His most cherished times, though, were spent with his best buddy and stepson Nick Parker and his grandchildren. Ken will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Calvin and Marjorie (Mae) King; a stepson, Matthew Parker; and one sister, Donna Childers.
Ken is survived by his wife, Tamara; six children: Daniel (Courtney Scheiter) Parker, Stephanie (Isaac) Preston, Breanna (Ethan) Mitts, and Nick Parker, and Todd Herdman and Tamara Folvercik; grandchildren: Emma, Reagan, and Stella Parker, Ella, Nora, and Hayes Preston, Zayne and Rowan Mitts; two sisters: Phyllis Umphfrey and Shari Brock; along with many extended family and dear friends.
