Loyd was born January 1, 1937 in Green Ridge, MO, the son of Thomas and Katherine (Fisher) Williams. Loyd was a military veteran, joining the Navy after high school. He served during the Korean Conflict stationed out of San Diego, California and Alaska. After completing his military service, Loyd worked in a variety of fields, mostly in sales. He worked in home improvement, car sales, and as auctioneer among others. However, his favorite work and hobby came from working with horses. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch watching the horses out in the pasture. He bred and raised world champion show horses. He designed and created the Walk Trot Treadmill. Horses were his passion and he traveled the country attending horse shows and looking for show quality horses.
Loyd was a talker. He never knew a stranger. A comical cut-up who always had a story to tell. Loyd, being a perfectionist, was always a sharp dresser. He loved clothes and shopping. Loyd married Shirley Dizney on June 16, 2007. They enjoyed 14 years together: shopping, traveling, visiting friends, and sharing their life together. They attended Calvary Baptist Church in Adrian enjoying the fellowship and worship.
Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Katherine, and his sister, Joyce Williams.
